Together with its subcontractors SEALED, Time.lex, PwC and Studio Notarile Genghini, DLA Piper is undertaking a study entitled "Study on an electronic identification, authentication and signature policy (IAS)", financed by the European Commission. The study was started in May 2011, and will end in November 2012.
The aim of this project is to study the feasibility of a comprehensive EU legal framework for identification-related electronic credentials required to secure electronic transactions (including ancillary services). The work will be undertaken in the form of four tasks with several accompanying deliverables, which may serve as building blocks for future EU legislation.
